For more than 35 years, Abraham Katz has been successfully building a reputation as one of the premier dental care providers in the Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia area. He consistently provides high quality treatment to patients in the areas of general, restorative, neuromuscular, and cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Katz is committed to improving each patient’s overall dental health as well as the appearance of his or her smile. Aware that many headaches arise out of problems with the jaw, Dr. Katz has taken hundreds of hours of education related to jaw function and jaw adjustment to make the fit of the bite harmonious to the function of the jaw joints and jaw muscles. He continues to improve the quality of the lives of numerous patients suffering from conditions related to Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMD) by alleviating stress and muscle tension typically caused by improper jaw alignment.

As part of his commitment to high quality care, Dr. Katz’s participation with on-going continuing education enables him to obtain the most current information and the latest advances in dental technology and techniques. He has studied at the widely renowned Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI), the premier neuromuscular and cosmetic dentistry post graduate program in the country.
Dr. Katz’s dedication to his craft has given him the privilege to be labeled as one of “America’s Top Dentists” by the Consumer’s Research Council of America. Throughout his career, he has also written many articles for local publications focusing on the more advanced aspects of dentistry.
In addition to his high quality dental services, Dr. Katz’s philosophy of care includes listening to the needs of his patients in order to provide them the most complete, well-rounded treatment. Dr. Katz’s focus on neuromuscular dentistry and TMD treatment facilitates his patients’ relief of discomfort while also providing them with a beautiful, vibrant smile.
Dr. Katz attended Howard University College of Dentistry. After graduation, he served as captain in the Army Dental Corp. In addition to completing a two year residency in general anesthesia at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., Dr. Katz is continuing to further his studies at the Bethesda Physiocare, a premier post graduate center with a focus on myofasial pain syndrome and at the Center for Occlusal Studies in West Virginia in Craniocervical and Craniomandibular Pathophysiology.
